Nasserwanj Wadi & D'Souza Chawl

Thank you so much for reading my blogs. Here are the 2 haunted  places in the prime location of Mumbai that is Mahim.

Like every other city, Mumbai too has its share of horror and spooky tales. The city that never sleeps can literally give you sleepless nights owing to some its old tales of tragic deaths.  This time, instead of talking of Mumbai’s happening night life, let us take a look at some of Mumbai’s haunted places that people dread to visit even today. These stories are so creepy that even the bravest of all will get nightmares. Lets read the 2 most haunted places of Mahim.

Nasserwanj Wadi

Located in close proximity to Mahim Station, Nasserwanj Wadi is spooky place in Mumbai. An old compound, it once belonged to a Parsi man named Nasser. About two decades ago, he was brutally murdered and brunt. There was a well closeby. He loved his property so much so that people say the spirit didn’t leave the place. Its believed that the spirit haunts people who crossed his path at night. This property is believed to be cursed since then. Residents staying here have often seen Nasser, or his spirit, walking around in the premises of the compound. Things got spookier when as many as seven people died within a short span of time in the same property. People who know about this place avoid being in its vicinity after sunset, as the spirit of the landlord is notorious for harassing and haunting anyone who crosses his path.

D'Souza Chawl

Mumbai is filled with chawls and D'souza Chawl is one the haunted place in Mumbai. The chawl is rumoured to be a hub of paranormal activities happening around the well and the houses around. This chawl is lined with houses on both sides with a well in the middle of the compound without a boundary wall. Because of this, a woman who lived in the chawl who once went to fill water fell into the well and died. Since then it is believed her spirit roams in the area around the well. Many people have spotted a woman’s figure who disappears later. The residents have heard the sound of someone drawing water from the well at night. But people are strictly advised not to go there at night alone. The story that surrounds the D'Souza Chawl in Mahim might sound as if it's straight out of a horror movie. Ever since then, her reluctant spirit is said to roam the chawl complex. The story apparently happens to be true because it is personally experienced by one of my friend. My friend with her other 3 group members had visited the chawl. At the time of their visit they were 4 of them but while returning only 3 members came back. The 4th person hasn’t returned yet. Its been 6 years since then. Ever since her death, the chawl gets haunted by her spirit after the sunset.   Another haunting story in this chawl is that of a guard who is often spotted near one of the trees. He appears to be there in the night and people often see him guarding the area.
